Ethyl's gives small town, retro, country bar with good BBQ and bar food. The space looks great for the summer - has an outdoor volleyball court and playground! - and is also cozy for the winter. The food was good! My mom ordered a salad, grandma had the pulled pork plate, my dad got the nachos and I ordered a cheeseburger. My dad is a repeat customer and really likes their nachos. As it was my first time, I can say that on a burger scale this was a solid one. Dipping it in BBQ sauce was perfect. Grandma had so much food she took some home and my mom finished her salad and liked it. Service was good.

Ethyl's catered an event for almost 300 guests. Lettuce salad, bbq brisket, potato salad, chicken, were each excellent. Ethyl's had everything at the venue well before needed so it could be set out, cafeteria style, for our guests. The amount of food delivered was almost perfect to the number of guests. One item ran out just before the last guest went through the line, but the other meat entree and sides were still available so no one missed a meal.

I just order the ribs and chicken combo meal to go. It was ready and bagged perfectly when I arrived at the BAR. After arriving home and unpacking found everything in. Great shape. My half rack of ribs with half of a smoked chicken filled one container while another was filled v with steak ffries while a cup of coleslaw was in a separate container. Also a roll was also with the ribs and chicken The First thing i had to try was the ribs i found them falling off the bone tender with a nice smoke flavor. Next I found the chicken just as flavorful as the ribs. The chicken was easy to pull apart to Devoir into pieces. The smoke flavor was perfext and not overpowering. The steak fries were crispy on the outside while the inside fluffy and delicious. It's hard to find something to complain about, but I'm not a fan of the roll.. Bottom line, I got more than I could eat for $19.99. I Will be back for more..

I have been to ethyls a few times with friends to get drinks but this was my first time coming and eating. It was a beautiful day so my husband and I decided to sit outside. The inside was packed and the patio was packed as well. Our waitress came up to us and got our drinks and even apologized for the wait even though that wasn't necessary. We got a bucket of beer to drink. To eat I got the pulled pork sandwich and my husband got the brisket plate. Both were very good. I really enjoyed the coleslaw that was on my sandwich. On our table was a variety of BBQ sauces that are all very good! Our waitress was very nice. The service was a bit slow but like I said they were packed when we went, so we understood. Also our waitress even told us that our food order was in but the kitchen was backed up. I really appreciated this because she was just letting us know that our food was being made. The manger even came by and apologized for the slow service. Overall, good experience here and I really liked how attentive the staff was.

Ethyl's has a number of very different sections. At the front door is the bar section. This area is actually rather large. There is also a fairly substantial restaurant portion with tables. There are pool tables at the back of the restaurant. While I was there, no one was playing pool but I would imagine this area gets a lot of use. Beyond the pool tables is an outdoor patio. I've never sat in this section at any of my previous visits. I'll need to rectify this oversight very soon. They also have an outdoor sand volleyball court. A friend plays volleyball here regularly. Started off with an order of wings. Ethyl's has some of the best wings in town! Absolutely delicious. Sarah brought out our meals. My friend had Grilled Chicken Breast with fries and coleslaw. The chicken was covered with cheese. My friend said he probably didn't need the cheese, but he certainly enjoyed it! I had a pork steak with coleslaw and a side salad. I was so busy eating the wings, I didn't get to my salad before my meal came. The pork steak was HUUUGE. It was covered in barbecue sauce so my first thought was that most of it was probably bone. As I cut into it, it quickly became apparent that wasn't true. The bone was actually pretty small. Took half the pork steak and all of my salad home. The coleslaw was also extremely good. Although Ethyl's calls itself a saloon (and smokehouse), because of the separation between the bar and restaurant sections, it doesn't have the feel (or sound) of a bar when sitting in the restaurant. Parking is sometimes a little difficult though I've definitely had worse. Ethyl's has its own parking lot but considering Ethyl's is always packed (everybody knows Ethyl's is awesome and a great value), the lot isn't really big enough and is almost always full. This is very literally my only complaint. Love Ethyl's!!

It's actually a 4.5 but I felt I needed to offset some rather negative reviews on here. The place's interior is like a museum of old gas station signs and lights and just some really awesome antiques. Full bar and they have a stage and nice looking patio and outdoor stuff (it's February when we went). The food was pretty darn good, smoked pork steak and smoked brisket were spot on. My only complaint was a rather mediocre salad otherwise it rocks.

With ambiance to spare and a lifetimes collection of post war service station memorabilia, this joint is perpetually jumping. I pulled off the highway immediately when I was traveling through St Louis and this place did not disappoint. The three meat platter was perfect with, what else, but St Louis style BBQ. Did not let down this Tucsonan. Bear down BBQ!
